Kayla was delighted to be accepted into the prestigious Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey apprentice program! At the end of May, Kayla headed to New Jersey for the 10-week apprenticeship. About half-way through the apprenticeship, Kayla reports that she has learned a great deal and really enjoys the other interns and apprentices in the program. Weekly classes include: acting and scene study, voice and speech, movement, stage combat and text analysis. In addition to crew work, there have been workshops by guest artists, and master classes with experts in their fields, including a master class with Artistic Director Bonnie J. Monte.
The performance opportunities have included: Taming of the Shrew, Epic Scene Night, Winter's Tale, Epic Fight Night and STNJ Cabaret. What a great way to spend a summer: learning and growing as an artist.
